FAQ

  • ECE (Economic Commission for Europe) certifications are type-approval documents that indicate compliance with the international technical regulations established by theUnited Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). These certificates confirm that automotive equipment and systems are manufactured in accordance with requirements related to vehicle electronics, electrical safety, andelectromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

TheECE R10 certification held by Ekomax means the following:

    • The product has been tested inindependent and accredited laboratories.

    • It doesnot cause interference, electromagnetic disturbance, or technical risk to the vehicle’s electronic control units, sensors, or circuits.

    • The product is safe for use in traffic as it complies withinternational production standards.

    • It is anofficial type-approval certificate, recognized in more than60 countries, including the European Union.

    • This certification also supports, from a legal and technical perspective, that the product doesnot modify the fuel system and is considered anauxiliary system, not a vehicle modification.

    In summary:
The certificate is the official proof that the product is suitable for automotive use, operates safely, and has been tested according to international standards.

  • No. The electrical consumption of Ekomax is extremely low, operating in the range of1 to 2 amperes. This load issignificantly lower than common vehicle components such as fog lights, multimedia displays, phone chargers, or interior lighting.

    In addition:

    • The system activatesonly when the engine is running,

    • It doesnot draw power directly from the battery,

    • It operates using a small amount of current supplied by the alternator.

    As a result:

    • It doesnot drain the battery,

    • It doesnot place additional load on the alternator,

    • It doesnot damage the electrical wiring,

    • It doesnot interfere with the vehicle’s original electrical architecture.

  • No. Ekomax cannot cause any damage to your vehicle or its engine.
The system doesnot interfere with the fuel lines, ECU, injectors, or any mechanical components of the engine. Therefore, it does not alter the engine’s operating principles and cannot create any harmful effects.

Ekomax is certified with the internationally recognizedECE R10 (E-Mark) approval, which proves that the system is safe and fully compatible with the vehicle’s electronic structure.

The system activates only when the engine is running and consumes1–2 amperes of power—less than a mobile phone charger. It does not place any additional load on the alternator or the battery.

Far from causing harm, Ekomax actually provides several benefits:

    • Reduces carbon and soot buildup

    • Enables cleaner and more complete combustion

    • Lowers exhaust emission levels

    • Improves cylinder temperature distribution

    • Helps extend the life of engine oil

As a result, the engine runs more smoothly and may achieve a longer operational lifespan over time.

  • No. The system does not pose any risk of combustion or explosion. This is because:

    1. Ekomax’s operating principle does not create pressure, combustion, or detonation risk.
The system simply enhances the combustion process within the engine; it does not contain components capable of igniting or exploding.

    2. Hydrogen is not stored or accumulated.
Ekomax produces hydrogen and oxygeninstantaneously and doesnot store these gases.
Since there is no pressurized tank or gas accumulation, no internal pressure is formed, and therefore no explosion hazard exists.

    3. The system is certified with ECE R10 (E-Mark).
Ekomax has undergone international safety and electromagnetic compatibility tests.
This certification confirms that the system doesnot create risks such as ignition, short circuit, sparks, overheating, or electrical interference.

    In conclusion:
    Ekomax contains:

    • No pressurized tank

    • No gas accumulation

    • No ignition source

    • No storage-based explosion risk

From a scientific and technical standpoint, an explosion is not possible.
The system is completely safe, operates with very low current (1–2 A), and functions solely as an auxiliary unit that improves combustion efficiency.

  • No, Ekomax doesnot void the vehicle’s general warranty.

    According to:

    • Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, and

    • Warranty Certificate Regulation,

a vehicle’s warranty can only be affected if an external intervention is proven to be thedirect cause of a specific malfunction.

Manufacturers or service centers mustprove a one-to-one causal relationship between the accessory and the failure in order to deny warranty coverage.

    Ekomax:

    • Doesnot interfere with the fuel system,

    • Doesnot alter ECU settings,

    • Doesnot perform any modification considered as a vehicle alteration.

Therefore, it doesnot affect the vehicle’s overall warranty.

Vehicles equipped with Ekomax donot automatically lose warranty rights.
Only in the rare case where the manufacturer canprove that the system directly caused a specific failure, the evaluation may be madeonly for that particular component, not for the entire vehicle.

  • The Ekomax system is covered by a2-year warranty.

This warranty provides full protection against manufacturing defects.

The actual lifespan of the system is significantly longer than the warranty period.
Based on real customer usage, there are Ekomax units that have been operating reliably formore than 10 years.
We even have customers who continue to use systems installed14 years ago without any issues.

Ekomax is a durable system manufactured in accordance with automotive standards.
With proper use and regular solution refilling, it maintains its performance for many years.

  • A 0.5-liter solution lasts approximately10,000 km.
If it runs out earlier than expected, you shouldnot add any solution or any other liquid on your own.

In such a case, you must contact the installer (authorized dealer) or the manufacturer before refilling, to ensure proper usage and to avoid incorrect fluid application.

  • The fuel savings do not come from theamount of hydrogen, but from the way hydrogenchanges and improves the combustion process.

The key technical advantage of hydrogen is this:

Hydrogen can ignite and burn efficiently over amuch wider flammability range compared to other fuels.

To understand this clearly, compare the flammability limits of different fuels:

Flammability Range Comparison (by Volume in Air)

    Fuel      Flammability Range
    Hydrogen (H₂)     4% – 75% (very wide)
    Gasoline vapor     1.4% – 7.6%
    LPG     2.1% – 9.5%
    Diesel vapor         0.6% – 7.5%

    What does this mean?

    Hydrogen:

✔ Can burn even in very lean mixtures
✔ Has a flame speed 8–10 times faster than gasoline
✔ Requires extremely low ignition energy
    ✔ Completes combustion efficiently
    ✔ Eliminates incomplete burning

Because of these properties, even a very small amount of hydrogen has a major influence on the combustion process.

    ????What Happens Inside the Engine?

    Normally in internal combustion engines:

    • A portion of the fuel burns late

    • Some of it does not burn at all

    • This results in energy loss

    Hydrogen changes this:

    • Combustion becomes faster

    • Combustion duration becomes shorter

    • The fuel burns more completely

    As a result:

➤ The engine requiresless fuel to produce the same power
    ➤ Fuel savings reach20–25%

In other words, the savings come fromhigher combustion efficiency, not from hydrogen’s own energy content.

????Additional Note: Why HHO does not disrupt the air–fuel mixture (AFR)?

    • Engine air intake:5,000–8,000 L/min

    • HHO flow rate:100–300 mL/min

Contribution of HHO to the mixture:

    0.003% – 0.005%

This level is far too low to:

    • Affect AFR

    • Increase combustion temperature

    • Place load on the engine

    Conclusion

    A small amount of hydrogen:

    • Speeds up the combustion

    • Eliminates incomplete burning

    • Enables the engine to do the same work with less fuel

Hydrogen’swide flammability range is the main reason why even minimal amounts produce significant fuel savings.

  • No. Ekomax isnot a fuel-producing system.
The HHO gas generated by the system doesnot replace the primary fuel inside the cylinder and does not contain enough energy to operate the engine on its own.

Under the operating conditions inside the combustion chamber, hydrogen is not present in quantities high enough to burn as an independent fuel. Therefore, it acts as acombustion enhancer, not as a substitute fuel.

This is technically proven by the following indicators:

    1) If hydrogen acted as a separate fuel, engine RPM would increase on its own.

When Ekomax is running, the engine speed doesnot rise automatically.
This clearly shows that hydrogen doesnot burn as a “thrust-producing fuel.”

    2) If hydrogen acted as a fuel, cylinder temperatures would increase.

In reality, EGT and combustion temperatures donot show a meaningful rise.
This proves that hydrogen doesnot contribute energy like the main fuel does.

    3) If hydrogen acted as a fuel, increasing its amount would proportionally increase savings.

However, scientific tests show that supplying hydrogen beyond a certain small threshold doesnot increase fuel savings.
This demonstrates that hydrogen serves as acombustion catalyst, not a fuel source.

    Conclusion

Ekomax doesnot produce fuel; it helps the engine burn its existing fuel more efficiently.

Fuel savings occurnot because hydrogen burns as a fuel, but because diesel/gasoline burns:

    • Faster

    • More completely

    • With higher thermal efficiency

    Technically, Ekomax is a:

    ????“Combustion efficiency enhancement system”,
    not a“fuel production system.”

  • No. There isno scientific evidence showing that supplying HHO gas (a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen) to an engine causes any harm.

On the contrary, peer-reviewed international studies demonstrate that delivering hydrogen and oxygen together results inmore homogeneous, more controlled, and more efficient combustion.

Engines already operate with atmospheric air.

    Atmospheric air contains:

    • 21% oxygen

    • 78% nitrogen

The amount of oxygen produced by HHO systems is extremely small—approximatelyone ten-thousandth of the air entering the engine.
    Therefore:

    • HHOdoes not disrupt the air–fuel ratio (AFR)

    • It doesnot create a condition that the ECU needs to correct

    Why HHO is beneficial

    HHO combines:

    • Hydrogen’svery high flame speed

    • Oxygen’s ability tocomplete combustion

    Together, these effects provide:

    ✔ Increased combustion efficiency
✔ Reduced carbon and soot formation
    ✔ Cleaner engine operation
✔ No increase in EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature)

There isno scientific publication reporting that HHO increases engine temperatures or causes engine damage.

Why pure hydrogen is more problematic

Pure hydrogen behaves more aggressively in terms of thermodynamics and combustion behavior:

    • It has avery high flame speed

    • It increases the risk ofpre-ignition and knock

    • Without balanced oxygen support, combustion becomes harder to control

For these reasons, academic studies show thatHHO provides more stable combustion compared to pure hydrogen injection.

    Conclusion

HHO isnot harmful to the engine, and the claim that “pure hydrogen is required” isscientifically incorrect.

When supplied at the correct flow rate and with proper system design, HHO improves combustion efficiency and helps the engine operate:

    • More efficiently

    • More cleanly

    • With lower emissions

  • No. On the contrary, Ekomax is fully consistent with the laws of thermodynamics.

Ekomax does not generate additional energy, nor does it provide “free energy.”
What the system does is simply:

    • Improve the efficiency of the chemical energy already present in the combustion chamber,

    • Allow more of the unburned or partially burned fuel to combust,

    • Reduce some of the losses caused by heat and friction.

This is entirely compatible with theFirst Law of Thermodynamics (Conservation of Energy).

    In short:

Ekomax does not create energy; it helps the engine use its existing energy more efficiently.
Therefore, it doesnot violate any physical or thermodynamic laws.

  • The fact that automobile manufacturers do not install such systems doesnot mean the technology does not work.
Large automotive companies operate with a completely different set of priorities. Their main objectives are:

    • Ensuring their vehicles pass global emission standards,

    • Reducing warranty liabilities,

    • Delivering products that operate reliably for many years,

    • Maintaining strict production cost structures.

Technologies like HHO, however, fall into the category ofaftermarket efficiency solutions, because they improve combustionwithout modifying the engine’s structure.
Manufacturers are not required to integrate such systems into the vehicle, nor do they have any economic or regulatory incentive to develop and install them at the factory level.

Despite this, many global manufacturers (such asBMW, Toyota, Honda) have published technical studies demonstrating that small amounts of hydrogen can improve combustion efficiency.
In other words, the concept is already known and acknowledged in the industry; it simply is not implemented as a factory-installed system due to the business model of automakers.

    In summary:

The fact that manufacturers do not include this system doesnot mean it is ineffective.
It means that—based on their priorities, economics, and regulatory obligations—it is not practical for them to implement it at the production stage.
For users, however, installing such an efficiency-enhancing technology as an aftermarket solution is perfectly reasonable.
